Hi, my name is AmberKaye. I have been a web designer for 14 years, since 1993. When I first became active on the internet, in 1992, I was inspired to help others in any way I could. I created a club on Prodigy Classic called "TSA," which stood for "Top Secret Advice." I had a few friends from Prodigy volunteer to help me with the club, and we were able to help a few people during our existence on Prodigy. Eventually, we established a presence on the internet. However, we never quite caught the attention of the "World Wide Web" as we desired, and most of the original members abandoned the club. All on my own, I kept the web site going, and made a few modifications over the years. Despite all my efforts, it has been dormant for a very long time.
I graduated high school in 1999 and my dream in life was to be a psychologist. I enrolled in college, majoring in Psychology. However, circumstances led me in a different direction. For my sophomore year of college, I transferred to the local technical school and majored in Computer Science, and then eventually Web Design. Again, circumstances led me in a different direction. In 2002 I changed my major to Business Education. I am three courses short of graduation.
As I said above, I have been a web designer for 14 years. I never have claimed to be the best and probably never will. I am a firm believer in the power of simple HTML. I have not changed with the times and moved on to designing in the other available languages. I do not use Flash as many web sites do these days. Why not? Because, even though the majority of web browsers (the people, not the programs) use high-speed internet, high-tech web sites still take too long to load. I want people to come to my sites and see them as quickly as possible.
After I was satisfied with my main site, amberkaye.com, I began searching for something that would "complete" me. I have always wanted a career where I could help people in any way I could. That is one of my passions in life (the other being web design). I am a Christian, and very strong in my faith. I am aspiring to become a Youth Director at my local church, The Cove. I want to do whatever I can to change the way teenagers think and live so they can be the leaders of the future.
This is where Counsel City comes in. I want to spread my vision beyond the youth of my church unto people of all ages around the world. I want to do everything in my power to help people. I am not a professional, though I do intend to enroll in a local college to further my education in the field of psychology, after I graduate with my Diploma in Business Education.
